ἀλλ’ ἔπαυσε μὲν τούτων πολλοὺς ἀρετῆς ποιήσας ἐπιθυμεῖν καὶ ἐλπίδας παρασχών, ἂν ἑαυτῶν ἐπιμελῶνται, καλοὺς κἀγαθοὺς ἔσεσθαι·
He turned many from these vices by instilling in them a desire for virtue, and giving them hope that, if they can only control themselves they can turn into good and decent people.
